Flaming Ferrets!!

June 8th, 2008

Hi,

I talk of course of last nights Ferret racing fundraiser for Carers; I didn’t win once and suspect the trap door was never opened on my ferrets track!
Either that or my ferrets had been nobbled before the race!

All today I suffered a stinking headache due I believe down to the little critters, as the smell they gave off was worse than CS Gas mixed with the bad smell connected to Keran’s case.

Anyway the event was great fun a big thanks to Mike and his Ferrets, and Duncan and his crew for organising it. It was great watching the kids lying down to watch the ferrets come out the end of the tubes and cheering wildly! Especially when a Ferret would chomp the end of the child’s nose next to them…its okay we had Risked Assessed it and found the Ferrets wouldn’t catch anything!

It seemed to go down so well we may have to have another! Thanks to all those that turned out, sponsored races, ran the raffle, etc.

I think we should have Ferret racing at the 2012 Olympics…maybe if we invent a new sport Britain may actually win for a couple of years until the rest of the world become better at it…..surely that would never happen. Speaking of which is anyone watching the Euro Finals? APPARENTLY THEY ARE ON?

I thought it was a continuation of the Eurovision and was disappointed not to see much singing, so turned off!

Onto more serious stuff I was surprised to see the story finally broke of the Chinooks that don’t work ordered years ago and sat around waiting for the Government to sort it out. Personally I reckon the Politicians found out the price of fuel and thought best ground them as we won’t be able to afford the fuel, or due to congestion charging (due to the amount of choppers in the air - not).

The sad news came in today of the 100th death of our servicemen out in Afghanistan. I wonder if the continued lack of helicopters out there would have helped the situation. Another Senior Officer (ex SAS) has also decided enough is enough and is leaving.

Hope it has nothing to do with the Part Time Defence Chiefs comments about Squaddies not being ’suitable’ for civvies posts and their respective wage…..

Hmmm

Des Brown come on down…..and I am more than willing to show you Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Coast Guard etc that are all ex Servicemen and women who do a bloody good job and bring many special skills to their respective new careers.

And like their time in the forces get little thanks and have to fight for pay rises, ask the Police Fed, the Healthcare Unions, Fire fighters, Coast Guard and even the Prison Officers who are currently looking after Keran for me.

Maybe a few more Servicemen & women should run for Parliament as they seem to have a damn sight more integrity than some currently there. For example I still await a reply from one of Des Brown’s fellow colleagues at the Ministry of Justice, but still no reply from her and the others that have been involved in Keran’s case at other departments.

Lets hope that when Keran is released that hopefully there will be bit of a shake up with the likes of the Witch Doctors, Legal Eagles, Persecutors, maybe we can stick in ‘em a Chinook and send them well you decide…..maybe we could make it a competition. Maybe they could go to Venezuela were fuel is about 2.5p a litre and bring some back?

I was watching Tony Robinson tonight about British Justice and the Magna Carta, etc. One bit I found very ironic was the first use of a Jury was in the case of ‘Alice’ I think it was who had been caught out, so blamed five innocent men of her crime. The jury found four guilty and one innocent and the four died.

It seems juries didn’t get off to a great start, and they still have issues with cases like ours and Fraud cases as was mentioned in the show. There were some good examples of what the Magna Carta would allow people to do and not to do. Including not having to build a bridge or river crossing where one didn’t exist (s23).

Maybe we should follow the American example when the Constitution says you have the right to bear arms. If the Government say declare that we have the right to no arms (as in the thing attached to your hands) kids couldn’t carry knifes, Fathers for Justice couldn’t climb on Harriet’s (Harman’s) House (wasn’t that a TV show Harriet’s House) and I couldn’t type things that no doubt annoy certain people on this keyboard!

Keran has seen article in the Fabulous Magazine (Sundays News of the World) as one of the ladies in there gets it weekly. Liked my Pink Jumper, which was kindly loaned by the Photographer as my white shirt was too Daz white!

On the back of the Fabulous article there has been some interest in continuing highlighting cases like Keran’s and hopefully the others down to just expert ‘evidence’ on TV shows more of that when we get the details.

Until then stay safe and cherish those around you.

Hi,

Not long got back from the Royal Courts of Justice for the Directions hearing.

It was a huge step in the right direction, firstly, as it wasn’t thrown out!

We were granted funding for a QC and we can get nearly half a dozen experts to assist.

The most importantl thing though is that an expert has come forward and volunteered his professional opinion that actually something else may have caused little Maeve’s untimely death.

This is not only good news for our fight to free Keran, but it may also help to find out what really happened to Maeve.

The only down side was we have to wait until November and then into January 2009. Which means Keran will be nearly out having served her sentence!

We will need to tighten our belts again and knuckle down to more work fighting these injustices.

It was nice to be back at the Royal Courts having done some work there and I actually saw some of the staff I had worked with. It is such a lovely building and if you like Victorian architecture it’s worth a visit. I got the feeling though that people working here had got used to it.

Back to the case though, it is upsetting to think of her an innocent woman and our two sons not being together for another Christmas and all the other family events etc., but we will keep fighting. The tunnel team report good progress on Plan B, but the estimated completion date is 2012!! (about ten past eight).

I know it sounds like I whinge that it takes so long, but in reality I am fully aware of how in legal terms how quick it has been for us. Some people are actually out of prison and still waiting to get a directions hearing to start clearing their names!

Every minute she is away is a minute more of shame on ‘experts’ like Risdon, Elsdon, Richards, Stoodley et al. Not that they worry too much I shouldn’t think.

Justice will be done. The judges had a link between us and another case today in the court. So many miscarriages so little court time!

Take care, message soon from Keran on the web site.

Iain

Don’t forget Ferret racing coming up soon! Still a few tickets left for the ball….watch me make an arse of myself I may have a drink!

May 7th, 2008

Hi,

Once again a quick update from the Birthday Boy. Now it’s not a subtle hint (about a subtle as a brick through a window), but my cunning way of mentioning presents (in the Media they call that a segway - a seemless link if ever there was-n’t).

I don’t normally celebrate birthdays, with everything that has happened over the last few years it all seems a bit worthless and anyway its only my 22nd Birthday (keep going…I don’t think they noticed….) so not too important.

Well my present was to hear officially from the legal team that we will have our first visit to the Royal Courts/court of Appea. Its like unwrapping the first layer of my pressie though, as there is still a way to go until we get justice. Obviously though it may be not so good news (or mixed news) for Maeve’s parents, but I hope they in some way they can get some true closure. It must be so difficult to understand at times, who do they believe?

I remember Mark on the Panorama programme saying about trusting the Police, CPS and the experts. But we all do normally. So did I. But they shattered my faith completely, I didn’t give up a 20 year Police Career on a whim. So many people I have talked to or trained talk about the Police and CPS not protecting them when they had injuries, there were witnesses and CCTV etc.

I used to try and defend them (the CPS and Police). Any organisation gets things wrong at times, but the way Ruth and Mark have been treated by them has been a Rollercoaster not only did they lose Maeve but they were put through the Mill by the ’system’. Maybe the CPS et al will be more honest and say these people we pay for haven’t proven anything.

As good as they (medics) can be they don’t know everything.

No doubt the CPS will be warning their experts to be on stand by back to ‘we pay - you say’, ‘get the cheque books out’ type stuff. I will ask one day how much they spend on expert witnesses a year actually and who tops the charts in most used.

I do hear a couple (of experts) are looking to stand down as they have had enough, well I have certainly had enough of their opinions and I won’t be alone! We have had people contacting us and await to see if they have been victims of the same ‘experts’. Maybe the experts concerned don’t want to be the next Meadows and Southall?

As we get more news we will let you know.

Anyone down this neck of the woods may have heard the distinctive thud thud of RAF Chinook helicopters today, I thought it was my birthday flypast, well the Queen has one and it is the RAF’s 90th this year, I thought maybe they were doing it for all ex RAF staff on their birthdays?! Well you can hope.

Whilst channel surfing earlier I came across the City of London’s salute to Heroes, held at St Pauls, Saluting all our Armed Services and especially those injured in the line of duty. I was a bit miffed as I had let it slip by nearly but the circling Chinooks earlier had been a big clue something was going on.

But why is it they salute our Heroes midweek? On an evening when kids have to go to school the next day? It reminds me of the Trafalgar 200 Celebrations (a couple of years ago) a hell of a lot of the Big ships and events all turned up midweek, during school times.

No wonder the public and Military in some cases have lost contact, they are hidden away from us, shame on the Government, prove me wrong bring back the Royal Tournament!

But well done to the City for doing something!

Also nice to see that rather than close Headley Court Military Hospital (were friends of mine have been treated over the years), the Government has found over £20 Million to keep it going. Maybe shamed by the work of Help for Heroes and the like!

Good. People can change things, we just have to stand up.

Anyway bed calls, sleep well and think of those thousands tonight with no water, shelter, food and indeed families in Burma. We will have to see if we can’t get something together like we did as a Scout group for the Tsunami appeal, guess who was a big mover behind that…

Take care

Iain

April 26th, 2008

I write after attending the ‘England my England’ fund raiser in the hut last night, which was very interesting and reminded me how lucky we are to live in such a green and pleasant land (unless you don’t recycle properly of course).

It was nice to see a mix of the community’s younger members and older members together. They got me up to, to talk about my experiences of being a Police Dog handler, which seems like yesterday in some ways but in others a whole lifetime ago. I dedicate the talk to Keran of course but to all the troops who aren’t with their families and are serving their country.

Hopefully Gerry Hanson (England My England) and myself will go on a tour of UK dates shortly and I can pay the mortgage off! Or even just pay for the next Petrol bill!

Thanks to DJ James for my sound effects and music, Jamie for the power point pictures, the ladies in the kitchen, the booksellers, and of course the audience, for turning up and donating. I hope you enjoyed it, I could have gone on and it was lucky the fire alarm went off when it did….we never did seem to have a fire though! Surely it wasn’t a ploy to make sure I got off…….nawh……….

The fact England is actually a Green and pleasant land, was reinforced today as I travelled up to Birmingham to speak at the Spring conference of FACT (Falsely Accused Carers & Teachers) association. The view from the train window was beautiful, sat onboard the rather sleek Virgin Pendolino train the world whizzed by, the view ever changing.

As the train tilted through the bends though (don’t worry its meant to), I kept thinking you should stick your hands in the air a’la ‘Rollercoaster’ rides and let out a whoop and a holler! But then it was too smooth to be a rollercoaster and there’s a good chance I would have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act on getting off the train…I know …. I know….I need more excitement in my life…maybe when we get a retrial…..

But back to gazing out the window, I had to envy those on board the narrow boats slowly plodding along the Grand Union canal. What a great way to travel, as long as you don’t have to be anywhere quickly of course!

But Birmingham and the FACT conference beckoned, so I sadly couldn’t take the slow boat route. It was very nice to meet the FACT team there after so long of just phone calls and e-mails. They allowed me plenty of time to go through the nightmare and at the end there was chance for questions from the floor (to be fair I think we should take more from the ceilings they have rights too). We then broke for lunch, so many of the delegates found time came over to chat (thanks to Gail for making sure I got fed).

It is heart-warming to meet others who have suffered False Accusations (as bizarre as that sounds), as you can feel very alone at times as I have mentioned before. But we are not alone there are many people out there, you are never alone, you may just feel that way. The more work done by groups to raise the issue the better, get along to them if you can and talk or write things down, get it off your chest.

No one there condones abuse of course, but no one should condone false accusations either. Maybe we need to look at charging people with an offence, with the 3000 new laws brought in one of them must cover it?!

Other areas came out that sounded all too familiar to, one delegate spoke of how many ex pupils had offered to speak up for them, including many who were now Police Officers. Those from the force area (involved in the case) weren’t allowed to speak out, another who had spread their wings further a field (in a different Police Force) did.

We could have asked more Police Colleagues, friends and associates to vouch for Keran. but I knew there wouldn’t be much point as they would either not be able to, or if they did their force, or supervisors or those in the case would always have them marked down and their careers would go nowhere, they would have to measure recycling bins or something….

It’s odd too that in Sue Holdsworth’s case, the officer spoke out but was ‘offered’ medical retirement and she was no friend or associate of Sue Holdsworth’s, just someone who thought something was wrong. I see no reason why Police Officers shouldn’t be allowed to stand up and be counted in the name of justice it should be mandatory!

There were many other areas the delegates had gone through the sort of things we had gone through and still are. When you don’t think you can be more humbled, someone comes along and thanks you for being an inspiration to keep fighting.

That is something I have to say I cannot claim credit for, as its not down to me, but to all our family, friends, the Carers team and those of you that attend the events and send things through and call, e-mail, write, carry out research, look after the kids for me (including meals), offer to help shop, clean, cut hair, make up curtains, repair things! Whatever!! To all of you, thank you again it is you that are the inspiration to these people, it’s not me, its all of you.
You are the inspirations, hats off to you and God bless.

Had a bit of a twist to the tale when speaking to the insurance company the other day, they asked if anyone in the house had been arrested and charged in the last 5 years. So I had to tell them about Keran, it caught me off guard and I felt really sorry for the lady on the other end, she may have got the odd ‘Yeah I have actually.’ But not many hopefully were I felt I had to explain your wife was wrongly arrested, charged and convicted’ all on the say so of medical mercenaries! Resulting in her name being tarred as someone capable of manslaughter of a little child.

Its surprising when all this pops up and I am sure Ruth & Mark must also suffer from the loss of Maeve at times when they least expect it. I know speaking to someone recently they often say there’s ‘x’ amount of them in their family, when sadly there isn’t as they are short of their father/grandfather, who sadly passed away. But still they count their father only to have to stop themselves, moments later, when they remember he is no longer there.

Count your blessings and not your misfortunes, you may be surprised at what you have.

P.S.

If anyone would like a talk on Police Dog handling, or me getting an Oscar, or my part in the Iranian Embassy Siege (only kidding - just making sure your still reading). Let my agent know, Max Clifford, sorry, no, Jamie wants to do it…he’s only 9 but a hard task master! He’s splitting the profits between him and Cameron….hang on what do i get out of this?

Pesky kids…..I’d have gotten away with it…….

Tuesday 22nd April 2008

April 22nd, 2008

Sometimes you wonder what to write in the absence of news from the Court of appeal, well today its what not to mention!

Firstly I wonder if the Government won’t help us out of the financial hole we are in with the loss of Keran’s wage. I don’t need 50 Billion Quid…it would be nice, but that’s all gone to the bankers who will help us the home owners, no sorry it looks like they won’t! Funny how none of them are brave enough to be interviewed as to why they won’t either.

But I reckon when they still make their huge profits, they will pass them on to us the homeowners (well you can live in hope…not a house…but hope).

Sad news that the Mum who was caring for her 22 year old son was found dead today, her son as I write is still missing. Lets hope he is found safe and well. It is annoying me now that there is not a hell of a lot of support for carers out there. Just makes me want to do more. I did see there was a helpline called Carers Careline, it looks like there are carers out there.

Another lady of note is the Mrs Newlove who lost her husband after he was attacked by ‘yobs’ last year. She fights to stop this happening again. We as a society need to do more, the Police can only do so much, its our society, a lot of guardians of good manners and behaviour have been taken away, from Bus conductors to Park Keepers. Even the old Cinema ‘Field Marshals’ in their smart uniforms, who used to keep ‘good order’ have all gone (I of course don’t remember these characters I have seen them in old Ealing and Boulting Brothers Films…shown recently of course)!

The Police are called upon to deal with things that in days gone by the public or others would have dealt with. Broken families and lack of Broken Windows policies all have roles to play amongst many other things. Cotton Wool kids not allowed out, so some play video games and watch films that show gore at every opportunity (my God I have become Mary Whitehouse). Remember when you got scared by the Daleks and a rubber shark (Jaws), it was the imagination that provided the shocks, now we don’t even have to use our imaginations.

Anyway I go on too much, there are small officials out there doing there bit…to give people criminal records for having their bin over full….

I am still in East Germany aren’t I?

What the….no wonder the prisons are full…….

Onto issues a bit closer to home now though, I see Professor Southall, he who thinks he knows best by the sounds of it. Well, he has won an appeal to get reinstated…..hmmm can’t say I am surprised though. The same was done for Meadows.

Great job that, you can pretty much do what you like, covertly film people, even in the Police and Forces we had rules about surveillance and covert stuff was always very dodgy ground. Nowadays though EVERYONE can do surveillance for important stuff….hang on….sorry just had to empty the paper recycling box there was a bush outside with a camera and a log book….where was I….yeap that was it any body can now do surveillance tap your phone, check your e-mail’s follow you around.

If only these terrorists wouldn’t recycle then we would have em!

Southall also got up to various other things, my fav, was watching Steve Clark (Sally’s husband) on TV, then ringing the Police and saying apparently ‘it wasn’t Sally it was him.’ The Police then did their thing, what that family went through and have suffered since is truly disgusting and Southall had a part to play in that. Some people would have been done for wasting Police time!

Another thing I like when reading articles about this is how they say if you have a go at us we will take our ball in and stop doing work to protect children and then what will happen. The guilt trip is a cheap shot, nobody in their right mind would condone hurting children and there is a new body to help vet people working with kids and vulnerable adults, the ISA, they will be a single point of contact for the process, working with the likes of the CRB and Police.

So there are others out there including MP’s, the public, parents and carers who do look out for children (don’t forget the childminder reported Victoria Climbie’s aunt). I have done my bit to protect Doctors and nurses we sued to escort them at times (air ambulance crews mainly) and stay with them when they had violent patients.

But I would find it hard to defend experts like these who want us to believe they know best, without much real proof. I was interested to see one expert in our case has sat on the GMC’s panel when reviewing others…not sure it fills me with a lot of confidence, but the GMC does act at times, the courts seem to reinstate them though? Maybe its time all this changed. Some Doctors who caused much chaos, still suffered to this date in the child sex abuse cases of years back are still working. Who pays apart from the families, some of whom are only now seeing their children who were taken away from them…

Maybe they need to step back and reflect, maybe they are lost in the woods and forgot they were looking for trees?

But better news comes in the form of Sue Holdsworth’s appeal starting today, after meeting her partner and her daughter at Christmas, I wish them all the best and hope that justice finds them soon, it has been over 3 years now since she was taken away. Little Kyle the child she was accused of killing was clearly a sickly child even to the naked eye when you see the pictures and the investigation was not as thorough as it could have been.

One Officer left, I can imagine what went on, but she has stood up to be counted and I hope she finds it as liberating as I do, to speak out against injustice. She mentioned the job being about what you can disprove as well as prove, maybe that’s something that the target culture doesn’t like. She also said how colleagues may have found her irksome, injustice or irksome…come on chaps……….what’s worse?

Everyone can get things wrong the Government, the Police, the experts, you, me, everyone. I have got it wrong numerous times, I trusted that this would all have been cleared up ages ago, that the jury would see through the ‘opinions’, I also bought a top once that was down right awful……but that’s another story. But seriously, when they realise it is wrong they should sort it out a damn sight quicker……..

Meanwhile we still wait to hear.

Did discover what I suspected though a while back, the two QC’s (defence and prosecution) where from the same chambers, which is legitimate, but it did leave me wondering. That’s the trouble with being a copper for so long, suspicious minds about everything. Also discovered few other things of interest, but they can wait (my one fingered typing is taking its toll).

Keep you family close and you recycling squashed down tight!

Iain

p.s.

Food or Fuel? Interesting story about the world food shortage too, there was a meeting at No.10 I wonder how much of the buffet got thrown away afterwards?

It was sad when I was still in the old bill lots of supermarkets and the like would give away food at the end of the day to the homeless, they can’t do it anymore, Health & Safety, etc (or some such thing).

Nearly as sad as watching the Ex Forces and Homeless show after the news, veterans sleeping rough I have seen at first hand and not just British troops either. Sad there wasn’t much mention of the British Legion, SSAFA, RAFA and the rest. But it made me glad I still have a roof over my head.

April 18th, 2008

Another blog from me to put up with! Mind you if you want the short version, the butler did it (….well it certainly wasn’t Keran).

Myself and the boys have just returned from another visit to see Keran, this time coming along was our sister in law, with the latest addition to the clan. Unfortunately my brother and the other two nephews weren’t feeling too good. I must confess to feeling sick every time I think of a certain miscarriage.

It was great as our latest nephew is a real charmer and to see Keran doing what she does best was great, if painful at times, as you only had to look at the visitors room around us to remember where we actually where. She wasn’t free to take him and play or feed him etc. It was quite an emotional visit.

The court of appeal are still researching the grounds and consulting with all they need to, so hopefully not too much longer. We have now crossed the 5 month mark believe it or not. So not long to go before she will have served half her sentence! But every day is a day we can’t give back to our boys.

Jamie has been suffering with a cold at the mo, which he is kindly sharing with me now, but better than any medicine he could have, would be to have a cuddle or two from his mum.

How our boys coped with illness and an enforced absence from their mum has really impressed family and friends of late. But no kids should have to go through this, there should be more visits for kids in these situations as otherwise you could be storing up problems for the future if your not careful.

But then I ain’t an expert and what would I know?!

Anyway after the visit the next day we took our visitors to Windsor, which I hadn’t been to for a while, but it was nicer for that to see the changes that have taken place. But how weird it was I was playing the tour guide with guests, as I was usually on shift and missed the daytrips.

So that’s one good thing that comes out of no longer being in the Police! Mind you its good not getting up at half four for early shifts too! Talking of the Police I have had numerous colleagues, that should be ex colleagues I guess, get in touch recently. It was nice to catch up and see that they are keen on fighting an injustice too. But more of that another day.

I watched the Olympic flame being touted round India earlier and the Police presence seemed a bit more restrained than some coppers in the UK who were throwing themselves at protesters like lemmings leaping from cliffs. Its amazing what a symbol like the flame can cause. But it gave me a wry smile as I haven’t long since written about the reactions of the Persecution, at Stars and later on the power of a Yellow ribbon. Some symbols of course are so powerful they can change a hell of a lot……lets hope the ribbons mark an end to the use of mercenary medics and unproven theories.

As I sit and type Question Time is on, and the politicians from all parties are so good at not answering questions at times I nearly forgot what the question was….nearly. But the question I would put to them all at the moment would they support the abuse of children by the state they represent as in our case and a secondary question is do they believe in innocent until proven guilty as that is dead.

There would be others of course about paying witnesses to say what you want them to say and many, many more. I actually went into the audience for Question Time some time ago to find out why the Government was making Police Officers into Support Officers and getting rid of an entire Police Force. But I think they weren’t worried about that on that particular day…..maybe that day will come soon.

So many wrongs so little time……..

Anyway, must dash, injustice to fight, mercenaries to take on, if anyone reading has had dealings with these ‘experts’ in family or criminal courts please let me know who you had lined up against you, as it seems to be the same old same olds. Also got to dash to do some digging to do, and we aren’t talking allotments……

Iain

p.s.

Can’t believe it the Question Time crew have just moved onto the Old Bill and one of them mentions its an important fact in this country we believe in innocent until proven guilty…must write to them to say its long gone…….
