Shaken Apples & Merry Experts of Windsor
Hi,
St Georges day not even a distant memory and the Government give you a reason to feel ashamed your English. The bravest of the brave again let down, we have immigrants from all over the world a very few whom may actually wish harm on our land, others that may want to milk it for all that its worth (or be a Brit and milk if from the Costa’s), some of course fleeing real hardships (NOT HOSE FROM THE COSTA’S ) wouldn’t we all in the same position?
But those who have given so much to serve the UK, one of our oldest allies and yet we can’t let the Gurkha’s in. There are other nationalities that have served alongside us, from across the Commonwealth and elsewhere, but the rugged and dogged determination of the Gurkha’s takes some beating. Its nice to see they won’t give up, its just a shame they have to, but then I know that feeling.
There was an Expert Witness conference in Windsor today, which I nearly popped along to, but I realised that it wasn’t going to include the experts we were after, shame it would be nice to see them in action again. Maybe they are all in Cornwall?
Mind you rather than shake them up, I couldn’t believe that Apple had an App for its ‘i phone’ that was to shake a baby till it went silent, I kid you not. Not only does the designer need a wake up call, but whoever let it through, how disrespectful to all those who have lost children or been falsely accused of SBS (a lot of course who also lost children). I thought App stood for application and not appalling? But hey I’m still not an expert…wot do I know apart form the screamingly obvious….
Just seen the video on You Tube, what were you thinking??
Time is ticking away till Keran is released, thankfully. Damn shame they couldn’t sort it sooner, but obviously that’s not on, the ’system’ doesn’t work that way.
The longer term clock is ticking to till the Court Date. We could have gone for next week, but the CPS weren’t ready, and although the team could have gone, we would have been without one of the experts. I sometimes wish we had gone for it rather than have to wait until well into the Christmas run up. Before that we will see what other conditions are to be put on us all, as like some of the Police Bail conditions they impacted on the boys freedoms, so here’s hoping we finally meet some sensible conditions.
This weekend I will watch with interest a truly inspiring bunch, all those fools who will take part in the London Marathon. I will be taking part, my plan is to hide in the Tamil protesters in parliament Square and then after a few hours run out of the crowd and up and into the Mall and hopefully finish say, second or third (don’t want to finish first on my first marathon, may be a bit obvious).
But good luck to all the other runners, walkers and crawlers, but a huge good luck to the Royal Military Police Major who is ‘running’ the Marathon after only just learning to walk again (we think we have problems!), it will take him 2 weeks…2 weeks! You could catch the tube, and get there at least a few hours earlier! Seriously though hats off to him.
He is running for Help for Heroes, so donate if you can, his website is www.philpacker.com. He wants to make a million for squaddies injured (including Gurkha’s no doubt… are you reading British Government).
I will also be doing a bit for the D-Day 65th anniversary (through the British Legion)this year as relatives of mine landed there. I often what today’s helath and safety would make of invading a hostile cooupied country, that could fight back with a huge Airforce, hundreds of U-Boats, E-boats, canon’s, guns, mines, barbed wire, pole, anti tank ditches etc. As long as you had goggles, paperwork and a yellow hard hat, things could be very diferrent! They would still be filling in the forms to say if it was a high risk or not!
Stay safe folks…don’t invade enemy occupied territory! But if you are going can you bring us back some Duty Free!
