I Thank you…again (I thank you)
The trouble with writing one of these blog things is I usually only get chance to sit down and write them late on, when my memory is fading along with my energy levels.
So I forgot a few thank you’s. Again not in any real order (there is no order in my brain at the mo).
To the Hamper deliverers
The Attendees to events
The Donater’s
The Cake makers (there’s a lot of them about)
The Paperwork sorters (Saturday’s especially)
The Decorators
The Builders
The Barbers (& The Papa’s)
To TV Suppliers and Stand suppliers
To Choirs & Brass Bands (you have talent - I don’t)
To Taxi Drivers
To the shoulders to cry on and ears to bend
The End…
well we will see.
No matter how bad things are, I have to thank my lucky stars I am not in Gordon Browns shoes as he has seemingly suffered the night of the short knifes. Hazel got in there, although maybe more made of it, Harriet is not going for the job…heard that before. I think I would rather be a prosecution expert than the PM…OR MAYBE NOT. They may both be facing their Waterloo soon.
Good to see the Gurkha’s won one battle, I never fancied tackling Joanna Lumley in her ‘Purdie’ days, high kicking in the New Avengers, but now she carries a Kukhri (A Gurkha’s razor sharp blade)…forget it, but well done to her and the Gurkha’s. People worry about them all wanting to settle here. I think they have more sense than that!
High crime, low morale’s, high taxes, low integrity, high fidelity…high..high fidelity…that would make a good song, get kids to go to a school of performing arts…or just make a fly on the wall instead. Cheaper. Bit like being cheap and nasty by not letting them in, they show more loyalty to Queen and Country than most.
Mind you we may need all the troops we can get as the battle of Europe will soon be among us again, we may have to declare war on the Baltic States, the Balkans and anyone else that doesn’t award 12 points to the UK in Eurovision.
But that’s another battle for another day.
K Day is coming and won’t be long now. Still got time to do but its less and less. Whilst the experts will resume their ‘work’ this week down in Truro, Keran nears her freedom. We still have to see what restrictions are placed on her and the family when she is out and even potentially you the reader and your families. Shouldn’t be long though.
I hear that the ‘man’ or Baby P’s step-dad is appealing against the conviction/sentence he received for the rape of a two year old girl. I can’t see him being the appealing sort. He doesn’t sound it.
Poor little Peter, as we are now allowed to refer to him, his name still in the news, but other news also of more sackings at a certain North London Social Services. We really do need a review fro top to bottom. But you have to wonder how many more are at risk, as we sit here. Lets hope not too many and lets hope those that inflict this pain on our most vulnerable members of society face the harshest of realities.
Maybe they could help with the Gurkha’s traditions, the one when they finish cleaning their knifes? Only joking, wouldn’t waste good steel on them, they could taint it.
I thank you…
One day I may go through the list of those we have nothing to thank…there’s quite a few in that one to.
Iain
