Misinformed Jury?
Hi,
Its amazing what you pick up from your notes of the appeal. One I forgot, when asking the judges to look at a picture can’t remember what of at the mo, but the CPS said ‘its in the Jury bundle m’lud & m’lady, its not a very good one (picture)’.
The comment was supported by another ‘we have better copies in ours’.
Or something like, I pretty much have it written down verbatim.
Yeap you can give the Jury any old tat in their bundle, after all they are only deciding on someones freedom.
I thought it was meant to be ‘best evidence’. Not well we found these lying around and stuck them in…
Hey ho. I wasn’t surprised, just terribly sad. Talking of sad. I don’t know if anyone heard the story about the Dad who was stabbed defending his son, the case was kicked out as the Judge said the CPS had taken too long and they walked (had that myself a few years back in a case). The ironic thing is the man concerned worked for the CPS. Who of course barred him from speaking out…free speech…don’t think so…
It does make you thing why there are more cases popping up, of people taking the law into their own hands. I feel so sorry for my ex colleagues that spend hours putting the cases together for something like that to happen and like in my case the CPS turned to me and asked me to tell the victim…I don’t think so…
