Do you Laugh or Cry, or raise an eyebrow?
Whilst travelling back from London town yesterday a couple of articles in the Standard caught my eye.
One that slashing costs at the CPS they could result in MISCARRIAGES OF JUSTICE…the cuts must have started years ago then? We seem to have had a few already… thats the laugh (or cry) bit.
The raise an eyebrow, mark 1, is that the Met are apparently saying an inquest into Baby P’s death is not in the public interest. Hmmm, with the outcry at what happened I think the public are very interested. Esepcially after Victoria Climbie…won’t happen again…
I wonder if the other bodies asked will say go for it, in this ‘open society’ of ours. Haringey Council, etc etc. My betting is very unlikely. I f I was the North London Cornoner I would go for it, after all what have these organisations to hide…as they usually say if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about…
That is eyebrow raiser number one.
I hear that the Met are also investigating an expert witness (or two or three) and are going to be at the GMC with the case very soon. I do hope you look at experts whichever side of the fence they are on and that you will without fear or favour go after experts who may not have been telling the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth in cases across the land.
If you need names I can give you a few…
